John has been teaching guitar and bass guitar (and occasionally other instruments) since he was a college student.  He holds bachelor’s degrees in Music Education (Instrumental Music) and Music Performance (Classical Guitar) from Minnesota State University, Mankato.  John currently works as a substitute teacher for Mankato Area Public Schools.  He also performs regularly throughout southern Minnesota with a number of different jazz, rock and blues groups.
